The week before the Wedding

Hi everyone! Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to the blogging. We're back from Egypt now and are resettling into our lives in Germany. The next posts we'll be a bit out of the usual chronological order since my computer crapped out during a Windows update. I had to reinstall everything including the operating system and I unfortunately lost all the pictures I had taken since I got to Canada back in May. But all was not lost since most of them are still on my mother's Camera and she will be sending me them to me soon. Thanks mom.

Since we did get Bill and Joy's pictures already so we can start with the week before the wedding.

The Marshall clan arrived in Richibucto on the Tuesday before the wedding. They had brought not only a station wagon full of clothes but also a U-Haul filled with coolers; filled with dry ice, two kinds of perogies and two kinds of cabbage rolls; and these we're in turn of course also filled with cheese and potato, sauerkraut, meat, and rice respectively. Since so many of you asked, we will post the recipes later.

They, like many others stayed at Les Chalets du Havre where my mother had just got hired. The very comfortable and lovely cabin they had reserved for their stay was also where Julia decided to set up shop (or sweatshop) to finish the sewing that had to be done on various articles of clothing she had been working on for about 4 months. In case any of you did not know, my beautiful wife took it upon herself to sew almost every article of clothing the wedding party wore (see previous posts).

These included:
- my three piece suit;
- two vests for the groomsmen;
- two little vests and shorts for the ring boys;
- two dresses for the flower girls;
- two dresses for the bridesmaids;
- and of course, her dress.

Well done Julia! And well done everyone that helped out in the sweatshops here and in Canada: Rishad, Karen, Joy and Baba for finding small thing when we couldn't. Special thanks to Gloria, Joan, and Annett; and Calin and Susanne for organising Julia's life before she had to leave.

We also had a wedding organization meeting at the chalet. Marie, Rishad and Crystal , thank you so much for all the organizing you did. We couldn't have had the party we did without you.
